Well, there's space for improvement, let's put it that way. Still the feeling that there's something wrong lingers on! He doesn't look like the shadow of himself!

C'mon Dai, we love you! I love you

I agree with you ostile and I am glad I could not watch his reaction.

Both Dai and Patrick have not shown their talent in their GP assignments.

I'm soooo worried....... What happened with him? Is he sick? Boots problem? Did he recall that horrible collision two years ago?

And Morozov changed the choreography of this program, as well. No

Good point, Gudrun.

Since I skipped Daisuke's FS, obviously I can't comment on it.

I've seen the protocols though.

Last year Daisuke placed 3rd in his first GP (Skate Canada). This year he's 2nd.

2011 SC: 237.87 (FS 153.21= TES 69.37 + PCS 83.84)

2012 CoC: 231.75 (FS 146.96 = TES 65.30 + PCS 82.66

I hope Daisuke figures out what kind of improvement he needs in time for NHK.

One thing I know for sure: when Daisuke doesn't skate well it's not because he's lazy or lacks talent.

I wish a speedy recovery to Brian Joubert and Nan Song.

Russian Sport2 will show Gala Ex (2.5 hrs) live, tomorrow at 07:30 CET.

Merci ! Wink

A lovely member called Diodio0013 has posted the ceremony podium :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPEmTpq_JA8&feature=plcp

And I descover that the bronze medalist Sergei Voronov had skated Pagliacci last season.
Morosov was the choreographer and the costume is quite similar.

I have a question, is there a restriction in GPF, that only three players from one country can qualify?

HI guys:

Wow, it is shocking, but I guess it is just a blip in the beginning of the season.

Completely agree.

I trust Dai, and I am sure that he will come back much stronger because of this.
He always turns predicament into the golden opportunity, even his almost career ending injury.
That is the reason why he is a real champion.

Big congrats on Machida. I love his programs this year both long and short.
I can see his amazing ex again bounce

My power has been restored and it was just in time for me to watch the Pairs and all of the Medal Ceremonies. Most of the audience must have left because there were very few people in audience so the cheering was very subdued. The men's ceremony was last and I did see some banners for Dai and his fans cheered loudly for him when he came out.

I was so happy for Mao and the French Ice Dance team P/B. I will have to watch all of
the videos when they are up on you tube.

That collision with Song and Adam was just terrible. I hope he is alright.

AFAIK, there are no restrictions reg number of skaters representing same country, in GPF.

I reread a document called ISU Grand Prix 2012 - 13 Announcement, just to be sure:

http://isu.sportcentric.net/db//files/serve.php?id=3584

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Page 10 states:

9. ISU GRAND PRIX OF FIGURE SKATING FINAL 2012/13
According to the ranking order by points
the top 6 Men and Ladies,
the top 6 Pairs, and
the top 6 Ice Dance Couples
who have participated in two (2) ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating events 2012/13 are invited to the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The way I read it, it's still about points and placement. They simply invite top 6.

Thank you hsuhs!
I read on some fs forum about such restrictions and my heart stopped for a couple of seconds... I went to ISU homepage and found that document too
...but you never know with ISU...

Exactly my worries. I just hope there is some other explanation, like... he doesn't have confidence in his programs anymore, after Morozov's changes. And he doesn't know what to do about it.

miyu wrote:

I feel depressed, not only I don't like the new Stroll but now even Pagliacci lost its allure for me... Without Dai's superb performance it is... what it is. (I don't want to be mean, but Mister Morozov (and Dai) there are other forms of expressing your feelings than catching your face. How many times does Dai put his face in his hands in this program?)

2012 CoC: 231.75 (FS 146.96 = TES 65.30 + PCS 82.66
So the strategy doesn't seem to be working...

Gudrun's words need to be printed in gold.

Congratulations to Tatsuki and Mao! It is so great to see Mao like this again! cheers And Dai, we love you, no matter what! I love you

Good morning! Very Happy

First of all, I forgot saying this last night. Big congratulations to Mao and Tatsuki!! cheers cheers Congratulations to the other medalists, too! cheers

hsuhs wrote:

I hope so, too.
I think, possibly the collision could be one of the factors which made Dai-chan lose his concentration. (His collision was also happened in China...............)

Last night I was upset, but now I'm OK. (though I still don't have enough courage to watch it again.... ) And he will be OK for sure, as long as it wasn't the result of some injury.

As you know, this kind of thing happens occasionally. It's rather lucky he didn't do this in major competitions this year, especially JPN and Worlds. Very Happy

True! Very Happy

I found three articles so far.

http://www.jiji.com/jc/c?g=spo_30&k=2012110300259

"The worst thing happened. I couldn't practice satisfactorily in Japan (before he came to China). The lack of confidence did this. This time I couldn't perform well in both of SP and FP. I hope I could say later to myself 'It was good I got motivated at the beginning of the season.'"

(What does "I couldn't practice satisfactorily" mean????)

http://www.sponichi.co.jp/sports/news/2012/11/03/kiji/K20121103004477420.html

"I was lucky I could still stay in the second place. I, myself is rather surprised."
(Being asked the reason of the failure) "The various things like nervousness didn't fit each other and I ended up with the half-hearted skating."
"I'd like to make GPF in the next competition"

http://www.jiji.com/jc/c?g=spo_30&k=2012110300304

After JO in October, he practiced in US. for two weeks. But things didn't get better after back in Japan.
"Possibly the high-level battle in SA and SC upset me."
"I could miss even the second place. As I'm lucky to still have a chance, I don't want to lose it."

Good!!

Let's not worry anymore: Voronov said in an interview that Dai changed his boots just before Cup of China! Is he crazy or what??? And why didn't he say so, instead of having us worry to death???
Anyway, if this is true, I am more relieved now! Smile

Hi there :-)

I tried to watch Daichan's performance once again but I couldn't ... so let's wait for his next performance :-))

Do you think this Russian channel is going to show the gala exhibition? Right now it is the end of another sports programme ... let's cross our fingers :-)

Cheers
Gudrun.
