May be to learn basics Dai should go to Evgeny Platov?

Platov is very good coach, but it seems to me, he doesn't have sufficient motivation - he was accustomed to a quiet and measured life, so recently he said in an interview. And then he trains only dancing couples.
Maybe I'm too harsh to select a coach for Daisuke.

This interview is very open, Daisuke says about his feelings. And, my God, he requests that supported him. Of course, we will. Smile

Hi there

If you want to smile a little, just go to http://daisha-daily.livejournal.com/51726.html#cutid1

It is quite an interesting idea to have Dai's two sides of his face separated to see what he looks like if put together again :-)

For choreography I`d like to see Camerlengo FS & SP from Wilson or Browning (something elegant or strong).
I loved I love you Pasquale Camerlengo's Olympic FS La Strada for Daisuke. The thing that worries me, is that Daisuke´s done 2 tango programs in a row. Plus, Daisuke had a mambo music in his SP this past season. What if signore Camerlengo chooses Latin American music again? Isn't it about time to try something else?

I find Latin American music very passionate, very sensual. It allows skaters to project passion and emotions onto the audience. I just think there's more ways to be passionate and sensual. I picture Daisuke doing a Bollywood program, for instance. I think he could pull it off.

Even with one 4T Takahiko`s TS was higher than Chan`s.
True. But I think it happened because Chan had a step-out on his 3A.

Lil wrote:
I think that Dai should train and also take good rest until J Nationals. I mean no GP series.

That would be a good move indeed. But it's very risky, that is to come to Wolds with programs that haven't received any feedback from international judges (like Kim, Virtue & Moir this year).

Thank you for the link, Gudrun. Those photos of Daisuke are gorgeous.

Yes, it is quite nice, isn't it? :-)) He seems to like dogs, I remember seeing a video where there is a dog next to him in a waiting hall and Dai seems to respond to the dog ...

Hello Hsuhs

I also think that Dai's ability for expression is so great that he should skate to something that allows him to show all his fantastic qualities. I wouldn't choose another tango or anything like that ... The "La Strada" programme was great, perhaps something along this line ...

hsuhs wrote:

Sorry, but I cannot imagine Dai doing something like Bollywood :-)) Wouldn't that be too hilarious? Would people think it is serious skating? I don't know ... perhaps my imagination is limited ...

Thank you girls for your links.

hsuhs

3A is not P Chan`s strong point.
When I saw protocols it was amazing to me, cause Patrick did 4T-3T & 4T in FS, Taka did only 4T, despite that Taka`s TS was higher.

But anyway I think no one has a chance to get 10 in PCS like Chan, what do you guys think about it?

What if signore Camerlengo chooses Latin American music again? Isn't it about time to try something else?
As for choreo, it`s better to trust to choreogapher, that loves you & I think Camerlengo does.
I believe in Camerlengo. Very Happy

As I said before I`d like to see interpretation of classical music.
It`s like time to return to basics.
Actually I don`t want to see entertaining programm in competition because it was hard for Dai with Mambo.

Unfortunately, I don't know at this moment. Both coaches, which I could offer, for various reasons can not coach Daisuke.
But I would have left Camerlengo as a choreographer.

To be honest, I'm very concerned that two books about Daisuke come soon. I think, that unnecessary hype and extraneous work (eg, presentation of books) now takes the precious time of Daisuke.
All skaters have already begun to train, and Daisuke have to think of quiet rehabilitation after surgery and the beginning of training.
But hope, it will not take much time, but bring him income, which is also needed.

Hi all

I would choose Camerlengo for the choreography since I also think that they get on very well. I am sure they would have some interesting ideas to come up with.

Hello Hsuhs

I remember that, I also liked it :-) (although there was some controversy going on)

Let's see what Daisuke will do, we can only speculate ...

Thanks for the video link, though!

As long as the program's referred to as a Bollywood medley or something like that, I don't see how it can be seen as controversial.

When it starts to pretend to be an Indian folk dance, there might be problems, yes.

Loved that OD. My favorite OD of that season.

No, there wouldn't be anything controversial about that, I totally agree with you :-)

It is indeed a really nice programme they skated!

Figure skating: Takahashi gives update on knee after bolt removal
May 29 08:21 AM US/Eastern

KYOTO, May 29 (AP) - (Kyodo)—Former world champion Daisuke Takahashi on Sunday gave an update on the progress of his right knee, from which he had a bolt removed recently that was inserted three years ago when he underwent surgery for ligaments he tore in October 2008.
If all goes to schedule, Takahashi could resume full-scale training on ice at the end of June.
Takahashi had the bolt removed on May 19 and left the hospital on Friday. Currently, he is undergoing rehab every two days. "It is thinner around my knee, but I feel better now that there is nothing inside my body. I might be imagining it, but it feels lighter," said Takahashi, who was attending a seminar in Kyoto.
Doctor Kunio Hara, who was in charge of Takahashi's surgery three years ago, said, "His condition has returned to the point before he injured himself."
Takahashi, who failed in his bid to defend his title and finished fifth at the world championships in Moscow last month, had thought about retiring after the worlds, but he has decided to continue his skating career through the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

Hello Panther

Thank you so much for the news! I am happy Dai could leave the hospital as planned and that everything seems to be fine with him and his knee :-)))

Looking forward to hearing more on Dai and his programme (which might be around July if he starts training from the end of June).

Cheers
Gudrun.

Thank you for sharing, panther! cheers

It's great Daisuke's doing fine.

Looking forward to more great news come June (and possibly, a youtube video?).

I found a report on japantimes.com, but they basically repost the breitbart.com article.

Here is a picture showing Dai at the seminar in Kyoto:
