Haha, Morozov said he remembered Takahashi's performance where Dai had fallen 7 (!) times during Free Program and had still got 8.5 for PCS. Funny man. And besides that, a lot of unpleasant things. Honestly, why is it always so that after reading Morozov's interviews I want to go and wash my hands.

In which competition?
I don`t remember.

Well, it seems that both Dai & Morozov can not forgive each other.
Remember Dai`s mood when he skated in front of Morozov SP official practice in Torino worlds?

In his every interview Morozov says unpleasant things about Dai & JSF and generally about japanese people.
In this interview he also said about personal life of Nobu. In other interview he said about Dai`s family.
He should not to say this.
That`s inprofessional behavior.

Neither do I actually. Further more, I can hardly imagine such a thing. Guess he was...a bit...exaggerating. Yeah.

So true! I don't know, the more I get to know this man (from his own words, I'm not at all craving to dig into his personal life) the more he seems stupid and shallow and just...goopus.

That's bad!!! Exclamation

for me ... that annoys his ex-athlete has won the world title and a bronze medal at the Olympics after the season that left him (not counting the season skipped)

Morozov is a great choreographer, but in my opinion is a bad person....that's just my opinion but it makes me think. scratch
I much prefer Camerlengo Very Happy

I would not call Morozov GTEAT choreographer. No This treatment has helped Dai, now he has beautiful and different programs.

http://spb.kp.ru/daily/24595/763064/

Here is another Nikolai's interview.

There were some interesting comments about Dai,Nobu,Koz & future of Japanese figure skating.

(helped traslated tool)

He said that

The Japanese are more talented and hardworking, with one hand. And on the other ... I'm working with two Japanese, with Daisuke Takahashi and Oda. Nobunari like falling from a quadruple jump and falls. How Kozuka was an average athlete, as great heights never reached. And even though Daisuke won medals, but still rides worse than three years ago (then coached by his Morozov. - Comm. Aut.). I think if you finally step aside, does not work with them a little, then soon the whole Japanese phenomenon will end.

****************************************************************************

I think that Morozov wanted to say Dai's success was due to his coaching ability but Nobu's problems werenot his resposibility in those interviews.

Hi Fosse:

Thanks a lot for the article.

Saying that If Morosov does not work for Japanese for a while, them Japan will cease to be a power in skating is absolutely not true and very arrogant.

I believe that it is Morosov who made Dai a stunning skater with his artistic expressions, fluid arm movements and gorgeous upper body carriage.

However, there are lot of excellent Japanese couches in Japan such as Nagakubo and Sato.
He completely ignored them as well as their excellent work. It was Nakakubo who taught Jumping skills to Shizuka. It is Sato who taught such a beautiful skating skill to Takahiko.

Anyway, Here's the video that Morzov talked about. I guess Dai fell on all of his jumps.
He was 18 and he was in the middle of typical teenager struggle.

PostSubject: Re: Nikolaiís interview mentioning Dai?   Thu Dec 02, 2010 9:18 pm

2002-2005 were tough years for him. Psychological problems or may be if him started to train seriously earlier, like in case with Plushenko, it`d be some different story.
Johnny, who also started to skate late in 12 years, also hasn`t success.
Anyway I think that Daisuke like skater is not only Morozov`s ďproductĒ.
This is Viktor Kudryavtsev `s interview. (He trained Dai couple of years before Tarasova I guess)
http://www.infox.ru/sport/winter/2010/03/26/CHM_2010_Syergyey_Vo.phtml
/Translated with program. /
He said ęI have trained Daisuke long time; we worked on his jumping technique. He was a fine fellow that took the risk and put in program element that is unstable obtained in training." About flip
"In the face of Takahashi new judging system, which does not cease to criticize, received confirmation that it is not so bad. Daisuke always had a virtuoso skating technique, dynamic skiing and expressiveness. Takahashi now found a middle ground: it looks cool and the technical side, and the components of the program ". sunny
"The Japanese stand out among all skaters with their light, elastic soft, high-speed skating. Our skaters do not have that lightness and airiness".

Also Tarasova said once ďWe learned to do 3.5A & 4TĒ.
So, his jumping technique is achievement of Kudryavtcev & Tarasova.
(Verner & Bzeshina also have beautiful jumping technique like Russians I think it`s because of their affinity)

And commentator from ESPN said once ďTakahashi has refined quality of skatingĒ, and that refinement I think is also Tarasova`s achievement.
She`s good at polishing. Evan is right proof of that (Please Takahiko, take some lessons from her! Razz )
What was indeed Morozov`s achievement is that- as Daisuke said ďHe gave me confidenceĒ.
Big work he`s done with Daisuke & wonderful programs.
In Evgeni Platov`s interview I read ďWe put technique for Daisuke. Wonderful boy! It was clear that he has big future. When you do program for him he did everything without questions.Ē
So Russian specialists have brought the huge contribution to his development.
And also Daisuke said that his idols in figure skating are Platov-Grishuk, Marina Anissina - Gwendal Peizerat.
Generally saying he had big influence of Russian skating school on the base of soft Japanese skating.
Sorry for long post.

Hi Lil:

Daisuke's upper body carriage changed really abruptly in 2005.

Here's vid of before:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_k1HYZaV7xg

Here's vid of after.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN22Fb8SzsU&feature=related

Can you tell that his spine became a lot straighter and he started to move arms using his back muscle, making arm movement much more fluid and natural. (Sorry this is dancer's lingo, but arm movement should come from the core, or it looks like you are just moving arm's aimlessly.Good example is that of earlier Miki's arm movement in step sequence around 2007)

He was trained by Tarasova in the first half of the year and went to Morosov later. I do not believe that Kenji was working for him around this time.

Also Dai went through very vigorous muscle training during summer of 2005, so it surely explains his larger muscle and newly built core strength. I believe that his upper body became much more solid and stable after new season started in 2005.

So maybe, it is Morosov and his Portuguese's trainer's work?

Hello, Genki!
Definitely, Nikolay improved his spine & he used back muscles more.
But watching his performances, I feel that if you compare his Roxanne & Bachelorette, later he moved in direction, that was in Bachelorette.
So I think it was Kenji`s influence, to make his arms that fluid.
And also now watching this year Tango I totally enjoy his upper body movements & arms movements - so beatyfull done.
So I see Pascuale`s influence as well. Smile
Comparing to previous years, he became much better. I can watch his new FS over & over with the same pleasure.

Exactly. There was a video comparing his basic skating before and after the injury. He said that " It is easier for him to skate, and I can take some postures that he could not before injury."

In addition to this, as you suggest that Pascale did a great job to enhance his naturally incredible dancing ability.

Anyway, I can not wait to see how much better he can be as an artist.
His own word," There is limit in terms of technique, but there is no limit in terms of expression,!Ē

Wow、Well said, Dai!!
