Hi:

I just found this video which shows Amelie on 6/26 Doi and a bit of of Ameile on 7/5 performed in Kanazawa.
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11326718

What a difference! The step sequence became much more intense and much more Dai.

Yeah!!! Our Daisuke never stops advancing!!!
Go go Daisuke!!

Thanks for sharing the link Genki! But I cant view it. I think you need to log-in to watch the video?

It's a great thing that his performance for this program is evolving. Can't wait for this season to start!

I went to Kanazawa and watched the final show of the PIW Kanazawa on July 4, 2010(Sun). Here is my report on Daisuke’s Amelie.

When Daisuke took the ice as a penultimate skater, lights were still off, but audience recognized his silhouette and started to roar. The biggest cheering voice of the night. In the darkness, while MC introduced him, Daisuke did intense warm-up. I had never watched him do warm-up that hard. I believe he was practicing the fastest part of step sequences. I still remember his silhouette vividly. In the darkness, his silhouette was pure black. The hem of his shirt was slightly see-though material and it fluttered hard because he moved so intensely. He looked like a little devil who loves dancing and snatching people’s souls. I said to myself that “oh, he is going to use every part of his body to perform Amelie tonight!”

Actually I also went to DOI on June 26 in Yokohama, and honestly speaking, I was disappointed because I could not feel “it” from Daisuke’s Amelie. To my eyes, his hands and fingers were dead. He had not digested Stephane’s movements and Daisuke Quality had not been seen yet at that memoment.

Back to Kanawaza. Even after music started, lights were still off, so I could not see Daisuke’s facial expression during the first pantomimes. Lights were on when he turned backward. I recognized first difference here. The way he turned was slightly different from Yokohama. It had a slight pose, like 8th or 16th rest. It’s slight difference but it made a big difference to my eyes, because I believe what makes his performance outstanding is his subtle movements here and there.

His fingers were more talkative. During his fast movements, I believe he put some freeze (1/5 sec or 1/6 sec stops) here and there… or I felt as if time was stopped when he looked at audience several times! I felt in that way because after watching his performance, I noticed I had some still images of Daisuke’s movements in my memory. I am afraid it is one of the devil’s super techniques to burn his still images into somebody’s brain!

After the step sequence, he did the impressive “big-long mohawk”. If I remember it correctly, he added a new arm movement. At the end of RBO, he reached forward his right arm with palm up. Fingers were as if he was catching something from the above softly. It was similar to the La Strada movement when he gave a flower to a judge, but it did not look the same. It expressed more solitude, loneliness, missing something, long for something… oops, I wrote too long. This movement took about only 0.6 sec.

In the end, he lay motionless in Yokohama, but Kanazawa Amelie was different. Lying pose was the same, but after he lay on the ice, he moved his arms, hands and fingers slowly. It looked as if a swan was folding its wings, or Daisuke was slowly stroking something with his hands. He lay pretty close from my seat, and I was watching his finger movement. I was like “awwwwwww”. I don’t know but I felt something sensual from the movement. It happened only to me, maybe?

Hi Guys:

Sorry I forgot that this site needs registration!!

Sanseki , thanks a lot for your help. I really want DTFF members to see the difference of the performance.

Niko Douga is a free service and people put comments to enjoy the video. If you feel there are too many comments, you can erase them by clinking balloon like botton on lower left hand side.

Roko, thanks a lot for your great report. I know that Dai will develop this into something. He is too talented not to do it.

Hope there will be a TV broadcast of Kanazawa version.

The end of this video has same the footage from Kanazawa PIW as the video Genki posted. I couldn't download the first video, but I managed to download this one, so I'll post it in the video section for those who haven't signed up for Nico Douga.

Actually, not really. Neutral I couldn't get a ticket to DOI, and I can't leave the Kanto area, so the only other opportunity I'll have (I think) is Friends On Ice. I did manage to get a ticket to that though, so I'll report back to everyone about it! Smile
