PostSubject: World's Dream Podium   Wed Mar 17, 2010 2:13 am

Hi guys:

I wonder why nobody is talking about the world.
It is next week, guys!!!

My dream Podium
Men:
1. Daisuke --He wins by 10 points difference over Plushy landing two quads in free program. Plushy falls in love with Dai and suggests he will leave his newly married wife,(Sorry, I just can not shake off idea that Dai is gay. Kill me!!)
2. Plushy.
3. Takahiko--He also lands two quads and judges finally opens up their eyes to his extraordinary skating skills

Woman
1. Mao Asada---Perfect program with 3 3A's includning one 3A +3T combo.
Modified choreograph, including the posture to shooting aback at Yuna.
2.Akiko-Nothing to say. Most enjoyable program ever!!
3. Mirai---She skates perfect program much faster than Yuna with empathis on the gorgeous flexibility and also shoots back at Yuna.

I can't wait for Worlds! I'm so glad Universal Sports is airing it live, it'll be the first time I can watch an international competition live on TV this season!

Here's my dream podium:

1. Daisuke: I hope he lands the quad and skates everything else cleanly so we can finally see a perfect version of La Strada. Very Happy
2. Jeremy: Hopefully he can skate well and make up for the Olympics! He'll have a lot of pressure to keep 3 spots for the US men since Evan and Johnny aren't going to be there.
3. Takahiko: Hope he lands the quad again and gets the PCS he deserves.

For the women I know Mao and Yu-Na are going to be on the podium no matter what (unless one of them completely bombs), but I would love to see Akiko skate lights out and make the podium as well. Smile

Hi Calliope;

Long time, no talk.

I am very excited about universal sports too.
Good for them

Here's Dai's new quad practice video.
Too footed, but I thought the jump got bigger.

Worlds after the Olympics seems so anticlimactic to me and yet I'm still looking forward to it.

Thanks for sharing the video, Genki. I would love to see Dai land a clean quad (or at least rotate it).

Dream Podiums (I know most here don't pay attention to pairs and dance but I'll put them anyway):
Men: Gold: Daisuke; Silver: Jeremy Abbott (although I wouldn't mind seeing him win); Bronze: Takahiko (or he at least gets the PCS he deserves).

Ladies: Don't care really except I want Mirai Nagasu on the podium.

Pairs: Gold: Pang and Tong; Silver: Savchenko and Szolkowy; Bronze: Kavaguti and Smirnov.

Dance: Gold: Davis and White; Silver: Virtue and Moir; Bronze: Faiella and Scali (their chances are good).

Hi!

OK, my dream podium is....

GOLD: DAI-CHAN cheers cheers (Of course!!!)
Silver/Bronze Jeremy Abbott/Brian Joubert

I really hope Takahiko will do well!! Very Happy But Takahiko making the podium means one of those, considering Plushenko two of those, will fall off the podium..... Suspect

Takahiko flew for Turin yesterday. Good luck to him! Very Happy (Dai-chan is still in Japan, I think. No news so far.)

He analyzed why the score was rather low in the olympics and he thought it was because his performances was introverted and stony-faced. So he learned facial expressions which would appeal to judges, by looking his face in a mirror.
We have to forcus on his facial expressions in the worlds. Wink Cool

BTW, have you seen this montage for quad jumpers? Really nice. Cool

Just read on a Russian news site, Evgeni won't be at Worlds
http://www.lenta.ru/news/2010/03/19/plushchenko/

He's taking a time off from skating & practicing (as doctors advise him), 2 weeks to be exact.

Oops. I hope he'll still be able to make it to Stockholm Ice on April 2nd. There will be quite some disappointment if he doesn't show up.

I was thinking... Takahiko is the only one from Team Japan who has never been to Torino before, right? Dai, Nobu, Mao, Miki and Akiko have all competed there already, so I guess they know what to expect.

That one kind of took me by surprise. I was like "wait.... wasn't that just a 3T?" I expected only 4T so I didn't see that one coming. xD I was very proud that Adrian could be in there. Smile

I checked his official site for updates, but the April events aren't listed yet:

Wow, I wasn't expecting Plushenko to withdraw. With both Plushenko and Evan out, I hope Daisuke doesn't feel too much pressure to win now. Neutral

Thanks for the video! I know skating is about much more than the quad, but the quad really is exciting -- I got excited whenever someone landed it in Vancouver, especially when Adrian and Takahiko did (I screamed out loud after Takahiko landed his, haha!).

I wonder how Daisuke would feel now that Plushenko and Evan are not competing- on one hand he might be feeling less stressed because his chances for Gold are higher, on the other hand, Daisuke, being such a dedicated and committed skater who always strives to compete at the highest level, might feel a bit ambivalent about competing in a relatively "easy" pool? (of course, the competition is still as tough as ever... )

Plushenko doesn't come to Torino?!?
Hmm...Hopefully this is good chance for Dai-chan!

My world's dream podium:
Men:
1.Daisuke
2.Brian
3.Takahiko

Pairs:
1.Pang/Tong
2. Savchenko/Szolkowi
3.Mukhortova/Trankov

Ladies:
Not sure if Miki Ando will be there..if she is:
1.Miki
2.Mao
3.Yu-Na
But Yu-Na is her biggest rival...cuz she is the only one who can lose the golden medal. If she is in a good day no one can beat her!

Ice dancing:
I want Faiella/Scali on the podium...the rest doesn't interest me!
