Eurosport is showing Men and Ladies later tonight but I have to say; That is a great score for Oda! Looks to me like Tomas Verner will make it to the GPF instead of Stephen Carriere.

And I just have to say it again - I MISS DAISUKE! Crying or Very sad

I have only seen the OD, which is what Eurosport has shown so far, but all the banners are hung way up high, so you don't see it when they focus on the audience.

It's the same thing that ISU did during Worlds in Gothenburg. We were not allowed to have banners in the audience. The result; nobody saw all the banners people had brought with them.

I'm sure though that during the Mens competition, the producers would focus on banners for Daisuke. I will look for them later tonight when I see the competition.

Just watched Mao's performance. WOW! Shocked
She was just so focused and gutsy throughout! 2 3A's (2nd downgraded, but still!!) No 3Lz, although she had her first clean call of it yesterday.

Too funny about the stumble right at the end. Good job, Mao. The GPF will be very exiting in the ladies' field for sure! Very Happy

Congrats to the men's top 5 flower sunny I yet to watch the free programs.

Congrats to Nobunari Oda. He did very well considering. It must mean a lot to him.

I was looking forward to NHK Trophy since the GP entries were announced. And, yes, I had a different winner in mind at the time. But, hey, there will be another NHK Trophy next year, and I'm already looking forward to that one. It's only a year away.

Italian tv has just broadcasted Ladies and Men's FP.

WOW! Ladies' podium is completly japanese! Very Happy

Congratulations to all medalists! But I'm especially happy for Nobunari! alien
Also Mura did a great job! I think he could be the third japanese man for the world championship, with Oda and Kozuka...

It's true. It's a bit strange to watch NHK Trophy without Daisuke...

I watched it all today! The ladies competition was really good for once. Mao did such an excellent job in both the short and the long programs. I can't imagine what her scores would be like if she fully maxed out her planned elements. I never expected Akiko Suzuki would come in second. Interestingly enough, she only beat Yukari by 0.77 overall (and by 0.03 in the long program).

Nobunari made an excellent comeback! I'm very proud of him for coming out and skating like he did with all eyes on him. I miss Daisuke but I enjoyed watching Nobunari very much. I wonder if Dai was watching from his hospital room. I didn't see any banners for Dai but I actually saw quite a few for Nobu. The battle for the national title will be very interesting. Nobu and Takahiko Kozuka are about even as far as I'm concerned so the title go to either one of them.

glorydave, I agree that Takahito Mura could be the third man on Japan's world team. He did great here.

MAO! MAO! What a challenging girl!! There is nothing to say, just amazing.I love you I love you I love you

I'm happy for Akiko, Takahito and Yannick too.
Yay! Yannick got his first GPS medal here in Japan (finally)!! cheers And I was impressed by Takahito's guts trying another 3A after he missed the second one. Brave boy indeed! Cool

While I saw the event, I realized it was so difficult to be patient....Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad I have to be strong like the man whose skating I love so much.

BTW hsuhs, I remember you said you liked Alban. Cool I like Yannick. Razz
French Nationals will be soon. (Do you know when??) It's very interesting to see which men will make Worlds, isn't it?
I feel sorry for Alban. He did great jobs at both TEB and CoR. I think he should have been rated higher.

I absolutely loved Odas SP. Fantastic! I was bored with his FS though, so it's still back to square one between him and me. The one that really blew me away this competition was Ponsero. What a performance! That SP cannot be described with words, and his FS was great as well. That quad was... Wow. *shivers* I have underestimated him for too long. But no more! Brian out - Preaubert and Ponsero in. Very Happy

Yes, I like Alban Preaubert's skating because it's different every year. Preaubert has been having a nice comeback after missing a great deal of the last season.

French Nationals will be on Dec 19-21, here's the official site:

(edited)

Yes, it will be interesting to see who qualifies, although it's going to be either Yannick or Alban. The French have only 2 entries for the Worlds (if I got it right), and one of the two will be taken by Brian Joubert. But there will be Europeans first.

Alban's problem is PCS, IMO. It takes time to build up a reputation albino If he continues to skate like he's been skating this season, the judges will become more generous, eventually study Or at least I hope so.

I agree with you. His PCS was about 10 points lower than the highest one at TEB/CoR. No
