I, too, am watching. So far I've seen banners mentioning Stephane Lambiel, Jeffrey Buttle (?, not sure) and Johnny Weir's names.

Maybe there will be more Daisuke banners at NHK?

BRIAN met Jenkins, a specialist in blades... and it seems he is OK now with them.
Compared to the other skaters in Grand Prix short programs, he obtained yesterday the best score.
CHAN best short program was 81.39, LYSACEK 81.30, KOZUKA 80.10 and WEIR 80.55
But what happened to VORONOV

I surely think there will be lots of banners for Daisuke at NHK. Very Happy

That was a WOW skate from Brian! I was sitting in my couch missing Daisuke so much when I saw one man after the other make so many mistakes. Good for Brian. I'm just glad he didn't top Daisuke's score from last year's 4CC - it was not in the same league!

Somebody over at FSU posted a link to this picture. Poor Jeremy! I can't help it, it made me laugh so hard.

Thanks for the update, anne-marie. I am so glad that Brian got his blade problem fixed! He was miles above the rest of the field today. I'm also happy for Adam Rippon! I haven't seen his skate yet but I'm sure it's a lot better than Skate America. He should be very proud.

Artemis, the news outlets just love posting photos of skaters mid-jump. I must say I laughed real hard when I saw that pic of Jeremy!

I'm sure there will be tons of banner for Daisuke at NHK. Like all of you, I miss Dai a lot. There were some banners for Stephane at TEB as well. I saw one for Johnny as well that said that he's missed (Japan must have got to pick first during the selection and they wanted Johnny). I didn't see any for Jeff.

As for me, I'm almost satisfied with this placement (though I'd change one or two points). A bit surprised with Brian's fourth place in FS.

The men's event had the best skating all day. It was very fun to watch. Brian's quad was downgraded so he only got one point for it. He had a couple of level 2s while the other men who beat him technically had a mix of level 3s and 4s.

For dance, I feel really bad for Davis and White. Sad Their OD was a complete and utter disaster and it looked like Charlie White was not with it today. I really hope they can have a strong free dance because a medal would be almost impossible.

The ladies and the pairs were just sad. No one skated particularly well. I haven't actually seen the ladies but I don't think I want to watch. I watched the pairs in real time so I saw it unfold live.

Thanks hsuhs. I did see it today though. I must have missed it yesterday. I also caught a glimpse of the one for Daisuke.

Thank you for all the information, everyone!Very Happy Very Happy

I've just watched some performance of CoR.
Congratulations to the medalists! Especially Brian! I'm happy with the final placement too like everyone here.

Brian's FP was good even though he missed quite a few elements. Finally he proved he had great skating skill. But it seemed a bit odd for me. Why did he do 2 single 2As in FP?? Question
I was glad to see Tomas's nice performance after a long time. What a Face Beautiful 4T! I love you
Did Jeremy give up attempting a quad in FP? His FP was obviously very difficult to perform, which required both strength and skill, I guess. It might be the reason why he avoided a quad but I'm afraid he would need it to get a ticket for Worlds at US. Championships....Neutral

For dance, I feel really bad for Davis and White. Sad Their OD was a complete and utter disaster and it looked like Charlie White was not with it today.
Oh really? That was a pity. Crying or Very sad I was really impressed by their performances at SC. I love you

I don't understand Brian's choice about jumps. This time he did a flip and he hadn't "wrong edge"... Same question as miyu: why two 2A??? Perhaps he wanted to repeat a second 3T in combinations (so two 3A and two 3T)... but, also in this case, he could repeat another triple... I don't understand... scratch
Even if he didn't skate this program perfectly I like this one much more than his SP...

I'm happy for Tomas, too. I don't like the fact he didn't change his SP (it's a great program but I think top skaters have to change their programs every season), but I like his tango! I continue to prefer Chan's tango so far, but the season has just begun!

Dance was a huge surprise! I seriously did not think Davis and White could medal and that Domnina and Shabalin would come in second.

Me neither! But I am happy with the results. Very Happy

As for Brian and his 2 2As. I think he mentally bails out when he is tired. He hasn't had an optimal season training wise and I think he ran out of steam. I was surprised he didn't do a 3S in the end. His is one of the best in the business.
