I'm very happy for Alban Préaubert, who came back strong in this competition after missing a season.
He's a great kid (young man), and is BTW very nice to his fans. He's so down to earth, it's refreshing.

Thank you for the information, anne-marie!! Very Happy Very Happy

Congratulations to Alban! sunny

I saw Brian's SP and on youtube. He looked in good shape (and handsome with longer hair. Embarassed ) He skated strongly with good speed and footwork even though he had a blade problem. He also regained his muscle which he lost last year due to that unfortunete disease.
Abusolutely he will be a strong rival for Da-chan this season too. Cool

Yannick Ponsero who is my most favorite skater in French team I love you I love you got +2.67 GOE for his 4T in FP. WOW!! Shocked Shocked Just amazing!! cyclops
I saw his performances at Nebelhorn Trophy. His programs, especially SP was wonderfully choreographed. I like it very much.

Thanks for the news on this, anne-marie! I was surprised to hear that Alban won but I'm happy for him. I hope this is the first of many successful competitions for him.

Leode, Brian was having problems with his blades and even considered skipping the competition. I've only seen some of the short program and honestly, I'm not wowed by it. I have seen his costume for the long program and I think it's fugly.

I also got a glimpse of Delobel and Schoenfelder's free dance and at this point, I'm not impressed, especially given the hype surrounding their music choice.

I realize that these programs are a work in progress so I'm hoping I'll like them better when they debut them on the Grand Prix circuit.

He never fails to amuse us with his distinct costumes. Razz Razz Razz

Here is Brian's FP.

I like this FP. Very dramatic.
And the costume reminds me of Dai-chan's "Sabre Dance" which was choreographed by Tarasova with Platov. (I suppose...) Don't you think so?? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

PostSubject: Re: The Masters 2008 in Orleans France   Tue Oct 07, 2008 6:05 pm

I found this video with Brian talking about his new programs.
http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=qXCwyJ0YKfY

My translation of Brian's words is not perfect but I tried to do my best with two foreign languages... tongue

"In the SP there's a theme that is the playboy. I've to play a role (?): he is sure, he plays with the audience, he dances.
The FP is Last of Mohicans, so I've to interpret a character. It's something I want to try for the new season to see if I'm able to play a role."

The video said that Brian will put two quads in the FP without combo.
Then, about new rules he added:
"We can have more points for the quads, but if we fall, we lost more points than before. So, it isn't a good thing. But we have a spin less and this let us keep energy and this is good for me because spins are my weak point".

Myabe he wants to present a 4T and a 4S in his FP?!?!? Shocked

Thanks for the video, miyu! Very Happy

Miyu, do you mean this costume? http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=leFAgGvCRxs
Yes, they both have a lot of feathers! geek

I remember him saying at one point that he wanted to do 2 different types of quads in the long program so that's probably why he's not planning to do the quad in combination.

Thank you for the translation, glorydave!! Very Happy Very Happy

I found the video a few days ago and I was curious about the meaning "playboy" was used for. It was an only word I could understand in it. So the theme of SP is "playboy". I got it!! Cool Cool

The fact he can land two kinds of quad is a big advantage for him.
