PostSubject: Brian Joubert: new programs   Mon Sep 10, 2007 12:55 am

On www.artonice.it you can find an article with some news about Joubert... for the moment only in italian...

I report the part in which Brian talks about his new program.

He left his old SP "James Bond" at the end of the last season and he trusts in Kurt Browning for the new choreography. Music is "All for you" and it has been written for Joubert by Sèbastien Damiani, a young french composer.
Joubert says: "I've already executed SP without mistakes during trainings. It's very rich technically and it can obtain a good score. Maybe I can't reach world record (made by Plushenko in Torino 2006, 90,66 points), but this program is better than James Bond that I consider about 84 points. I hope I'll reach 88 points."
Joubert will show it in september during Masters de France (28-30 september).

Here is Master's competition result on Sept. 28, 2007.
Joubert won the prize. His new SP program was choreographed by Kurt Browning and it was a "All For You" by Sebastien Damiani as glorydave wrote.

1. Brian Joubert 71,44 pts
2. Yannick Ponsero 66,30
3. Jérémie Colot 60,60
4. Alban Préaubert 59,25

You can see his short program's training by Kurt and new costume as bellow. I think his step was improved more than before.

Thanks for information, Leode.
Hmm... His costumes are always... Sad

Anyway, Joubert's new SP :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB7GqKGvGaE

I think His spins and steps are more improved, too.
IMO the program is good, but not my taste.
He fell 4T(combo), landed 3F and 3A, Ponsero did 4T-2T, 2A, 3S, Preaubert fell both 4T and 3A, landed 3Lz.

I'm expecting his FS and eagering after a week for Daisuke!!!

Thanks a lot for the info & video link, Leode and yerina. Very Happy

I agree with you. His steps and spins were improved. It reminds me of Plushenko's performance a bit.
His costume is..., how can I say..., interesting??? Rolling Eyes

Maybe you've already found this though... This is Thomas Verner's new costume for LP. What do you think of it?? Razz According to the article he skated to "Japanese Drum music". It will be great fun for Japanese audience when he skates at NHK Trophy.

Thanks Leode and yerina! cheers

I can't see Leode's link to SP training with Kurt...
but I find a video on youtube...

Brian talks about the possibility to do two different quads in SP!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked
He's trying to enter in the history of figure skating!!! (listen the video!)
In my opinion it's too risky! ...and I saw he fell 4T in Master'S Competition...

OMG!!Shocked I think this is too risky for him, too. Yeah, I saw his 4T in Master's, however, this rink seems too small to jump quads. So, that's why he fell without injury.

Wow! Two quads in SP??
Though he succeeded 4T at Masters (free, with GOE 1.20), it's too risky!

I agree. It's true that jump points are most of TES and likely to decide the placement... But I want it wouldn't be battle of jumps.

Thomas Verner's new costume for LP
HAHAHA...
Joubert take fishes and Verner make a sliced-raw-fish?? Laughing Laughing

Anyway, please look at this protocol. (2007 Master's Senior Men FS)
http://www.ffsg.org/masters_2007/html%20COURBEVOIE/PATINAGEARTISTIQUESENIORSMESSIEURS_FS_Scores.pdf
All of top 1~6 skaters receive "e". (using wrong edge at Flip of Lutz)
I don't know really about other skater, but I think Joubert's Flip edge is certainly outside. (It's still mistery that he receive GOE 1.71 with Flip at Worlds!)
It seems to ISU trying to reform wrong edges.
Will Joubert correct his Flip at GP series, or focus on quads?

Plus I have a question...
The program performed at that competition was his last season's FS.
He keeping his FS last season?...

I totally agree with you. I prefer seeing more artistic aspect of figure skate..... Sad

Thanks for the link of the score of Master's. I was surprised how many skaters got "e". Shocked Shocked I have to check Brian's video though maybe I can't recognized it well. Does Dai-chan has any problem with his Flip or Lutz? What do you think???

Uh... Generally, Daisuke doesn't have edge problem.
But sometimes, there's judges who give him -GOE at Lutz despite of clean landing.
I think Daisuke take a leaping so easy that edge leans inside shortly.
But Daisuke's most confident jumps are Flip and Lutz, so if he had any problem with leaping edge, he must have been corrected it. Don't worry!
Anyway, let's see his new free program at tomorrow!

During Master's competition Brian did the same FP of the last year...
I don't know if he'll keep it also for the next competition...

I've found the video on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ltND6cbCMg

He jumped well... if I think to Dai's FP in International Counter Match, I'm a bit perplexed...
but in steps there're no doubt!!! Daisuke is the best!

I've heard Jourbert, Buttle and Lambiel will keep the last season's LP for this season. I can understand why Buttle and Lambiel keep them but WHY does Joubert do the same??? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
